Shelf Life
2022

Perched discreetly behind Canonbury Gardens, you’ll uncover Shelf Life; a hideaway siphoning the creative spirit through used books, fine wine and small plates.

The brand identity reads literary but drinks expression, through colour and illustration. The complete rollout was polished with an SLR, a few bottles of red and (a now) wine-stained 3rd edition of Orwell’s 1984.

The graphics incorporate hand-drawn type and serif for an intimate, personal feel that responds to the personal moments of reading and drinking.

There’s a fine line between handmade, but not crafty, self-consciously grungy, or graffiti-like. And it’s somewhere in Shelf Life.
